First of all i love your style. The detail and colouring are truly well done and the shadows are nicely done and the demon wings are beautiful with those hints of red. Also i especialy like the blood detail on his hands. The coat-tails are well drawn and placed, but they seem a bit too much. So as far as technique goes it truly is excelent. Now this isn't exactly original to begin with and Dracula did have a few rings and trinkets attached in his after-ressurection appearence. Furthermore by not including the beard and Dracula's other gruff features you made him look more like a child. But to be honest these minor problems do not hurt the overall piece. Very well done.
Castlevania has always been one of my top 3 favourites games ever. Not because of the game itself but because of its gothic atmosphere. I am also a deep fan of all the myths and legends that exist across the world and I have to admit, Transylvanian legends about Dracula's Castle were and still are the ones I really keep digging to find new informations.
The Lords Of Shadows series is a reboot of the original game, and the design they gave to Dracula is just perfect to me (appearance and background story). What you did with this character is just excellent. The lighting, the movement, everything in this piece reminds me of this "castlevanian atmosphere".
The expression speaks for itself and the foggy background with what we can see of a gothic architecture (Probably a part of Dracula's Castle?) finish the composition with majesty and elegance.
Just.... everything about this makes me smile. The absolutely stunning artwork, the quote you used in the description (I've been walking around for weeks saying it, much to my friends' dismay), and the fact that anything Castlevania shows up with a DD and on the "What's Hot" page........ Congratulations, my friend - excellent work!!
I clicked on the thumbnail without reading the title because I thought it was Legacy of Kain fanart maybe. Still looked like it could be one of Janos Audron's kind for bit till I read the title... Great art though!
The posture and the face convey so much tragic emotion while the ribbons of blood seem to become his garments. I am a huge Castlevania fan (whether it was Mercury Stream or the other developers) and to see the Prince of Darkness again gives me the urge to listen to the epic music again (not ready to take on the games themselves).
